No star is alone in the sky.

"Social isolation and loneliness are increasingly being recognized as a priority public health problem and policy issue across all age groups."

- WHO (2021)

What is Solitude to Solidarity?

We are an enthusiastic and motivated group of student volunteers with one common goal: dispelling myths about loneliness and removing shame from the equation.

We're working to establish a safe space where students can relate to one another, share their experiences, and feel less alone.

At STS, we think feeling alone doesn't have to equate to being alone. Our goal is to turn lonely moments into chances for connection by fostering a sense of community, creativity, and compassion.

Research shows that loneliness can be just as harmful as smoking fifteen cigarettes a day.

Our Objective

Loneliness is a growing public health concern, not just a feeling.

People of all ages are reporting greater levels of isolation and disconnection in a world that is more digitally connected than ever.

Our goals at STS are to create welcoming, inclusive environments, promote candid discussions about connection and mental health, and increase awareness of the negative effects of loneliness. By working together, we're creating a culture in which asking for company is seen as a sign of strength rather than weakness.
